Scott Rupp grew up in southeast Pennsylvania and received his Ph.D. from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). He is the Deputy Director of the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Scott is also the Director of the Scenarios Network for Alaska + Arctic Planning, and serves as the University Director for the Department of Interior's Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center. He is Professor of Forestry and has been a faculty member at UAF since 2001. Scott is a well-established forest ecologist with specialized experience in ecosystem modeling. Recent work has focused on modeling the response of subarctic and arctic ecosystems to changes in global climate and disturbance regimes. Scott has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He and his wife, Kerry Walsh, live off grid outside of Fairbanks with their two daughters, 15 dogs, 3 cats, 2 dairy goats, and 10 laying hens.
