Mud Bay Road
Mud Bay Road (3rd Avenue) is an 8-mile one-way paved road that includes views of Chilkat River Flats, Chilkat Inlet, and the Chilkoot Inlet near Mud Bay. This road predominately follows the coast and offers numerous roadside pull-off locations for wildlife viewing. Expect to see species like Common Goldeneye, Glaucous-winged Gull, Bald Eagle, Red-breasted Sapsucker, and Wilson's Warbler.
Directions:
From Haines, take 3rd Avenue (Mud Bay Road) 8 miles to Mud Bay. Mud Bay Road is a paved public road with numerous roadside pull-offs.
