Audubon Alaska is accepting submissions for the Arctic Ocean Photo Contest from March 22  to April 7, 2017! 

We are looking for photos to use in our upcoming Ecological Atlas of the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas.  

Please submit photos of Arctic and Subarctic seascapes, coastal scenes, sea ice, sea life including marine mammals, and subsistence and other human uses of the marine environment. Any photos from the Chukchi, Bering, and Beaufort seas are welcome (ranging from the Arctic Ocean down to the Aleutian Islands).

You may also submit photos of species that travel to the Subarctic and/or Arctic, but were not in Subarctic or Arctic waters at the time the photo was taken.

Submissions should be high resolution .tiff or .jpeg files (300+dpi) and sent by email to egustafson@audubon.org by 11:59pm on April 7, 2017. If you are submitting multiple photos, please send a link to a Dropbox folder or Google Drive folder.

Prizes

All participants will receive a “participation prize” of an Audubon Alaska Bird of the Year sticker, as well as a link to download a free PDF of the Ecological Atlas of the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas when it becomes available.

Additional prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place, as well as for an honorable mention.

First Place Prize: A POSTER featuring over 740 Birds of North America (size: 39" x 27") AND an Audubon Alaska ball cap!

Second Place Prize: An UMBRELLA featuring a map of the Arctic Ocean AND an Audubon Alaska ball cap!

Third Place Prize: A copy of Guide to the Birds of Alaska by Bob Armstrong AND an Audubon Alaska ball cap!

Honorable Mention Prize: An Audubon Alaska ball cap!
