Twin Lakes is located off the Stikine River and provides an opportunity to look for bird species that are more common in the Canadian interior than in coastal areas like Wrangell Island. There is a picnic site on the shores of the lake and the Twin Lakes cabin is available for public rental and also located nearby which is maintained and managed by the Tongass National Forest. Many species of warblers, thrushes, and sparrows have been found at this site.

Directions:

This site is located 18 miles up the Stikine River northeast of Wrangell via Twin Lakes Slough on the north side of the Stikine River. Access is by shallow-draft boat. Low river levels can limit access to the site. Contact a local transporter or tour company to arrange access. If hiring a guide, make sure they are permitted to offer guiding services by the Tongass National Forest.
