Totem Bight State Historical Park
The Totem Bight State Historical Park provides an opportunity to learn about Alaska Native cultural sites including totem poles as well as a traditional clan house that is representative of historic Alaska Native villages in Southeast Alaska.
There is also a trail access to the adjacent beach and tidelands providing views of the Tongass Narrows. Scan the narrows for water birds. There is often a flock of Western Grebes (75 to 200 birds) in Tongass Narrows that's visible between October and April.
Directions:
From the Ketchikan ferry terminal, head north on the North Tongass Highway approximately 7 miles to Totem Bight Road.
