Petroglyph Beach
Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park is located 1 mile north of the Wrangell Ferry Terminal on Grave Street. The park was established to preserve and interpret for visitors the ancient rock petroglyphs created by Alaska Native peoples thousands of years ago. The site has an accessible boardwalk to a deck overlooking Petroglyph Beach, the Stikine River, and Zimovia Strait. Beach access is from the deck for beachcombing and tidepooling.
Watch for Pigeon Guillemot, Barrow’s Goldeneye, Marbled Murrelet, Pelagic Cormorant, Surf Scoter, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Bald Eagle.
