Muskeg Meadows Golf Course is a favorite spot of local birders for early morning and late evening walks. The golf course is adjacent to muskeg wetland habitats and surrounded by temperate rainforest. When the course is open for golf, check in at Golf Course Pro Shop to ensure there is no conflict with birding and be aware of golfers using the course. There is no fee for walking the course. Watch for: Varied Thrush, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Northern Flicker, Tree Swallow, Wilson’s Snipe, Hairy Woodpecker, Fox Sparrow, Golden-crowned Sparrow, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet as well as a variety of warbler and waterfowl species can also be detected at this birding location.
