Mount Dewey Trail
This boardwalk trail winds up through forest habitat on the large hill behind the town, leading to views overlooking Wrangell and the ocean. Watch for Swainson's Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Varied Thrush, Bald Eagle, Steller's Jay, American Robin, Northern Flicker, and a variety of species of sparrows and other forest passerines.
Directions:
The trailhead parking area is located at the west end of 3rd Street but is very limited. It is also easily accessed by foot from downtown Wrangell.
Trail Information:
The boardwalk trail is a quarter mile one-way to a viewing platform leading to views overlooking the town and ocean.
