This birding site is located between the Dyea Road from the intersection with Klondike Highway in Skagway to the Taiya River bridge in Dyea, about 8 miles. A number of convenient pull-offs are along this road, including overlooks and interpretive signs. There are a wide variety of waterfowl and waterbirds along the shoreline as well as other birds in the adjacent forested vegetation. Common sightings include: Marbled Murrelet, Pacific Wren, Dark-eyed Junco, Chestnut -backed Chickadee, Steller's Jay, Western Tanager and Red-breasted Sapsucker.

Directions:

From Klondike Highway, turn left onto to Dyea Road. Follow Dyea Road approximately 8 miles to the Taiya River Bridge.
