Southeast Alaska Birding Trail Coffman Cove

Head of Coffman Cove

Arrive up to two hours before high tide, as the rising tide will move the birds closer to shore.

The head of Coffman Cove is an estuary where the tidal salt waters and the fresh water of Coffman Creek mix. Watch for waterfowl and shorebirds at this location. Arriving up to two hours before high tide is helpful, as the rising tide will move the birds closer to shore for better viewing.

Directions:

From Coffman Cove, drive 2.2 miles on Coffman Cove Road to the parking area on the north side of the road.
