Hungry Point Trail
This trail offers a short, easily accessible hike.
The Hungry Point Trail, a .75-mile gravel path through the muskeg (which is a peat bog), connects the ballpark to Sandy Beach Road. This trail offers a short hike easily accessible from within the city of Petersburg.
Directions:
At the end of Excel Street, you will find the Petersburg baseball fields. The Hungry Point Trail starts at the northeast edge of the ballfields.
Trail Information:
- The Hungry Point Trail starts at the northeast edge of the ballfields and leads hikers through muskeg wetland habitat. Near the ballfield, the Hungry Point Trail joins the Nature Boardwalk Trail which leads westward to the elementary school. Approximately a quarter mile out on the Hungry Point Trail, it junctions with a boardwalk completed in 2018, which leads eastward to 14th Street and Sandy Beach Road.
