The town of Wrangell is a great place to explore on foot with several other close birding sites within short walking distance including Mount Dewey Trail, Ferry Terminal, City Dock, Shake’s Island, and Volunteer Park Trail. The town provides great access to the coastal birding of Zimovia Strait and the rich waters of the Stikine River Delta.

Approximately 50 species have been documented in Wrangell including a wide mix of waterfowl, seabirds, shorebirds, passerines, and many other types of bird species.

Downtown Wrangell Alaska: access by airplane, ferry, or cruise ship.
