Sitka Town Center
The town of Sitka is a good place to explore on foot with many areas easily accessible and within walking distance. They include the National Historical Park, Sitka Channel, Crescent Harbor, Castle Hill, downtown, and adjacent trails including the Sitka Cross Trail. Over 150 species have been documented in Sitka including a wide mix of waterfowl, seabirds, shorebirds, passerines, and many other types of bird species.
The Crescent Harbor is the Sitka small boat harbor located south of downtown Sitka and is a good spot to bird within the town of Sitka. There is a parking area on the west side of the boat harbor and a trail goes around the harbor. There are also several floats and slips to explore in the harbor.
