Voyage on an Icebreaker

Track Audubon Alaska's Melanie Smith on her journey to the Arctic Ocean on the Coast Guard icebreaker the "Healy".

Audubon Alaska's Landscape Ecologist Melanie Smith is serving as a seabird observer on board the U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker the Healy for three weeks, October 5-25. The ship departs from Dutch Harbor, in the Aleutian Islands, and will sail up to the Chukchi and Beaufort seas.
